Having a pig roast is just plain fun, the more the merrier.  There are several methods you can choose from.  Spit roasting is one of the more popular methods.  A suckling pig is a smaller pig that can be cooked on the grill or a small enough one to fit into your oven it depends on how people will be attending your pig roast.
 
The allowance per person is 2 pounds based on carcass weight with head. The use of a thermometer is important.  In addition, it is a good idea to have a spray bottle for any flare ups.Some recipes to have a look at for your pig roast are Hawaiian style, Cuban, and Italian. Should you want just the party and not the grilling experience you can choose to have your pig roast catered.  Alternatively, you could buy a precooked smoked suckling pig that only requires thawing and reheating.
